New server for the Exchange Rate API

This Saturday and Sunday (9th and 10th of November) we will move the Exchange Rate API to new servers. As a result there will be an experimental new service (see below).

Hopefully everything will go smoothly and there are no planned changes to the XML output so everything should look exactly as before.

It’s everything on api.finance.xaviermedia.com that will be effected by this move. No other services like finance.xaviermedia.com will be moved at this moment.

As a result of the move you will after Sunday be able to access two new experimental output files. They are http://api.finance.xaviermedia.com/api/latest.js.json and http://api.finance.xaviermedia.com/api/latest.json. Both files are still experimental and shouldn’t be used for production services, but feel free to try them out in your own test applications. At the moment there’s no documentation on the file, but if you visit them directly you’ll see how they look and if you’ve checked out the documentation on the API you will be able to figure out what you’re looking at.

Enjoy!
