How many pages are there on the Internet today?
March 25th, 2006 by Blogger Bot @ XavierForum.comI had a little boring this morning 8) so I started looking at how many of my web pages Yahoo.com had in it's database. After some searching I started looking at some top level domain names too and you can find the results below.I have to say that I'm a little bit surprised that .org is the second largest domain when it comes to number of pages in Yahoo's database. I think it's fund that a European country (Germany – .de) is on the third place and it's a big shock to me that Sweden (.se) is only on the 14th place!It's really nice to see that small countries like Vatican City (.va) and Gibraltar (.gi) than .aero and .museum.
So far we don't have any pages on .eu domain names, but I guess that's only a matter of time. What do you think?

It drives me nuts when folks comment on old stuff I can't remember writing – BUT I thought I'd make a plea, when you get bored again can you update the list? It would be an interesting comparison!

@Monica The list is automated now at http://whois.xaviermedia.com/ . It's updated about ever week and we're planning to add some new functions to view historical toplists too.
