I love Google alerts! I don't just search on my name, I also have set up alerts for my websites as well. It always shows me when my sites are written up/included.

This is a really informative post, especially for those who are not aware of this service. I have been using Google Alerts for some time now and I love it.

It is very good for keeping abreast of those subjects that you may write about often on your blog.

Thanks for this post. You reminded me of a story I recently saw mentioned on a morning news show but I couldn't remember what it was called. I just remembered it was a Google feature.
The reason they were mentioning Google alert is because of the amount of bullying going on in social networks and children giving out too much information online. It's one of the easiest ways for parents to protect their children online. They suggested parents to set up a Google alert so they would know when their kids entered their name, address, their school, phone number etc.
As a parent, I thought the idea was an awesome one. I like yours too. So again, thanks for sharing.
