What's up with .GR?
September 15th, 2008 by Andreas from Xavier Media® in Domain names, Statistics. Topics:Today when I looked at the graph of the TLDs (Top Level Domains) with the biggest increase in number of hosted pages from Xavier Media Whois I noticed that .gr had had an increase of 32% since the last time we counted!!!! How is that possible when a TLD usually only got about 5-6% increase or decrease…..
You get a more clear picture of what's going on if you look on the past three months for the .gr TLD. The thing with .gr is that they've had a hughe decrease of hosted pages two times in the past month due to pages dropping fromsearch engiens (Xavier Media Whois is using search engine data for it's graphs). Both times many pages have been found by the search engine spiders again. Therefore the huge increase when the search engines start finding .gr pages they've resently dropped.
But still, even if you don't count the latest dropps and increases you'll see a negative trend for the .gr domain
.
