Find out where your competitors get their traffic from

September 27th, 2008 by Andreas from Xavier Media® in Uncategorized. Topics:

Would you like to know where your competitors get their traffic from or maybe where your own visitors go after they've visited your own site?

To answer this type of questions Compete.com has just released a new service they call Referral Analytics. This is unfortunately a paid service, but hey they gotta earn money some way :D . As a free teaser you get to see the top three sites, but if you would like to see the complete list you need to upgrade….

It's a really handy tool since you can see both the results for August and July and a comparisation between them.

Unfortunately I wouldn't be interested in paying for this service since it's really expensive (too expencive to me) at $499/month! Yes, you read the correct amount. You need to have an Advanced account to get 250 reports of this service and that will cost you $499/month!!!!! They need to offer something more then just these graphs before I upgrade.

However since it's free for the first three results for each site you should have a look at the service.

I will check this out and see the top 3, but I can't believe how expensive this service would really be. Not sure how this type of information could ever be worth $500/month.

Holy Cow!! The top 3 is a pretty nice feature, but $500 a month for that info? I can't see how most people would pay that much as a 1 time fee. You can't tell me they wouldn't make more by drastically reducing their price.
