I hope you didn't enjoy your spam free inbox too much…
December 3rd, 2008 by Andreas from Xavier Media® in Antivirus & Security. Topics: Botnet, Google, McAfee, SpamI hope you didn't enjoy your spam free inbox too much since the spammers are back after the shutdown of McColo in San Jose on the 11th of November.
When McColo was shut down by companies like Google and McAfee the spam flood decreased by about 70-75% over just a few days. Also the number of child pornography sites and sites hosting trojans and other malware decreased dramatically. However the luck didn't last forever since the spammers have found a new hosting place
in a botnet controlled by "Russian individuals" accordinng to Washington Post.
We will just have to hope that Google and the others can do the same thing they did with McColo so we can get a better Internet.
