AboutUs.org new features
January 13th, 2009 by Andreas from XavierMedia.comAboutUs have added a couple of new features in their wiki about web pages:
- Summaries and topics for AboutUs pages. The summaries are short summaries about your page and topics are replacing the category system they used to have. If you had your page categorized before the changes these categories have been translated into topics instead.
- The second change is that they've changed the name of their article writing service to SpotlightUs Page.
AboutUs is actually a really good way to get some extra back links to your site and also get some extra exposure for your domain names. To create your own wiki-page about your domain names you simply just type in aboutus.org/sampleaddress.com where sampleaddress.com is your domain name. It's free to create a page but you need to know the special wiki syntax used (same as in Google Code
).
If you really don't want to create your own page you can order their paid service (a review can be found here).

Happy New yr and all that

I love about us.org and so does Google;)
Plus if you look around there's a little hidden chat room
with people that know more about the internet and all that
they will help you also .
I spoke with the staff on the phone months ago when I first started out and they were very cool

Hi Andreas, This sounds like a great idea especially if Google likes it. Then I went to your link where you said the price for the service if we don't know how to implement the syntax (which I wouldn't) is $197. That didn't seem too steep but you also mentioned that you haven't seen any increase in Google yet. I will be interested to come back and check in with you again to see if there is any change. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Great info. as usual.

I'm going to write a few more articles on the wiki syntax used since it's basically the same for all wikis out there like Wikipedia, AboutUs, Google Code etc.
