Will Entrecard end up like MillionDollarWiki.com?

July 18th, 2009 by Andreas from Xavier Media® in Advertising & Marketing. Topics: ,

If you're a member of Entrecard you may have already read in their blog that ZipRunner, Inc has acquired the site from Graham (the founder). This could mean both good news and bad news.

The good news is that there will be new management and hopefully they will stop the current trend where services are limited and users are banned almost randomly. I've already mentioned that the Entrecard market isn't working and that people selling something valuable there should think twice since it's too big risk that they are not paid at all. This is something the new owner will have to take care of as soon as possible.

The bad news are that Entrecard is a sinking ship. More and more users are leaving due to the limitations and changes implemented and also since the credits are almost useless since the market isn't working. The new owners are previously unknown which is a scary thing. Graham writes that they have the resources, but if no one can find anything about them in Google then how good can they be:

ZipRunner Inc. was chosen out of a number of potential suitors because of the resources they can dedicate to the project, their exciting vision for the company’s future, and their understanding of social media and the blogosphere.

If they really got "understanding of social media and the blogosphere" why can't anyone find their company web site?

The reason for this could be that someone just started a completely new company just for the acquisition, but why do that if you already got another successful company……

Lets just hope Entrecard will grow and become more successful than today and not end up like Grahams old project MillionDollarWiki.com that's just showing a "This Account Has Been Suspended" page……
milliondollarwiki.comAnyone investing $100 in a wiki page in that project has lost their investment :(

Well, look like the site, Million Dollar Wiki, is closed. Probably the owner did not pay for the hosting fee. It was a scam from day one, promoted by some Internet Marketing Gurus. The site is supposed to be up for 15 years at least. A pure pump and dump scheme. Lots of people paid $100 for a useless page on this brain freezing wiki. How can they get back their money?
