How to setup a free blog on your own domain

August 18th, 2009 by Andreas from Xavier Media®

When you buy a domain name from eXavier you also get a free blog account (Quick Blogcast). To setup your blog is really easy and this little tutorial will show you how to do it.

When you've logged in at your account at eXavier.com you click on the menu option called "Quick Blogcast" and select "Use Credit". You get one credit for every domain name you register at or transfer to eXavier.

Select the domain name you would like to use to setup your blog and click on "Continue":

Once you've setup your account, you click on "Setup Account" to start creating your new blog. The first screen will ask you for a blog title and which subdomain you would like to use for your blog:

To use www.sampleaddress.com as your blog address is not really to recommend, instead you should select something like blog.sampladdress.com or blogcast.sampladdress.com. This is because you in most cases would use www.sampleaddress.com as your web site and therefore it's not so great to use it for your blog.

Three ways of updating your blog

Your newly setup Quick blogcast got three options which you can use to update your blog, but more about that in a later post ;-)
