Still, though, I do recall &quot;spam&quot; e-mail campaigns promoting worthless &lt;b&gt;.sex&lt;/b&gt; and &lt;b&gt;.usa&lt;/b&gt; domains on either side of 9/11; the latter was heavily promoted in the hope of exploiting the (some would say forced) patriotic feelings in the United States following the Unfortunate Events (typical Subject line for such a promotion: &quot;Be Patriotic--Get .USA Domains&quot;)

(Ironically, a London-based scamming ring was found to have promoted the .usa &quot;domain,&quot; unaware that there&#039;s already a &lt;b&gt;.us&lt;/b&gt; TLD available.)

And let&#039;s not forget the industry-specific TLD&#039;s like &lt;b&gt;.coop&lt;/b&gt; (reserved for cooperative societies and business enterprises) and &lt;b&gt;.travel&lt;/b&gt; (reserved for the travel/tourism industry), to take two examples.</description>
