Really? Why? After all it is a tempting way to drive traffic to your site and indeed it can be effective for a while.
True, but as you might already understood black hat SEO has temporary results, is unethical and can cause you get banned from search engines.
It is worth the risk?
I don't think so.
What is black hat SEO?
Black hat search engines optimization is simply a number of unethical techniques that are used to rank higher in search engines results page (SERPS)
The most common black hat SEO techniques that you should avoid are the following:
- Doorway pages
Doorway pages are used in an attempt to trick search engines and their spiders so that they rank the page higher. Such a page is invisible to the user, it is a fake one, accessible only to robots and spiders. - Keyword stuffing and keyword stacking
In this technique you use many long keywords and repeat the again and again. For example, instead of content you write “make money online make money online make money online”. This technique soon or later will get you banned from search engines. - No content
Search engines love content, unique content. Content is the king. So, adding only keywords and keyword phrases without content in an attempt to attract spiders will not help at all. - Link farms
Search engines love content, but they also love backlinks. The more backlinks a page has the higher it will be ranked in the results. Does this mean that link farms will work?
Not at all. Google likes relevant and high quality backlinks and those will be the only that will count to rank your site high.
Link farms is defines as a long list of unrelated or low quality backlinks created in an attempt to improve a site's search engines ranking. - Social Networking Spam
This is a relatively new black hat SEO technique. Social networking spam means that you target demographics on social networking sites and you send the spam messages. This will not last for long, since you will get banned from your favorite social networking site due to spamming
Black Hat SEO vs White Hat SEO
I think that up to now you have pretty much got the idea of what black hat SEO is and why you should avoid it.
Let me add a few points though
- White hat SEO is ethical
- It will never get you penalized by search engines
- Once done correctly it will last for long
The choice is yours…
