Name: WP Check Spammers Type of script: PHP (plugin for Wordpress) Version: v0.1 Cost: Free Download:Yes Support:Yes Demo:Yes in our own blog
What's this
We all hate spam in our blogs and this little plugin helps you check comments posted in your Wordpress blog against databases of known spammers using SpamBot Search Tool. If the IP address, email address or the name of a known spammer is used to post a comment in a blog with this plugin activated the comment will not be posted at all. If you need/want the plugin can email you whenever a spammer is caught.

How to install
Download the file wpcs_XX.zip from our site an extract it using for example WinZip or WinRar
Upload the file(s) to the Wordpress plugin directory
Login at the admin area and click on "Plugins"
Find WP Check Spammers in the plugin list and click on "Activate"
Visit the options page fund in the "Settings" menu and do any changes you want. This is optional since the plugin will work using just the default options.
Remove the links to our site
By default the plugin is using our servers to look up spammers and therefore two links will be added in your blog as a thank you for the server resources we let you use. If you would like to use your own server to look up spammers and then also remove the links to our site you can do so by following these steps:
Visit Temerc.com and download the latest version of SpamBot Search Tool
Follow the install instructions and install the script somewhere on your own server
Visit the admin area of your blog and click on "WP Check Spammers" in the "Settings" menu
Fill in the location of your own installation of SpamBot Search Tool as "Spam Checking Server". Make sure you have a / at the end of the URL and also include http:// in the beginning. If your site is for example www.sampleaddress.com and you install SpamBot Search Tool in a directory called Check_Spammers then you should fill in http://www.sampleaddress.com/Check_Spammers/ as Spam Checking Server. If you need help, visit our support forum at forum.xaviermedia.com.
Now the links to our site will be automatically removed from your blog ;-)
